Bloom Where You Are Planted
Hey there readers,
Been thinking about this quote and what it really means in my daily walk and wanted to share what I have found. Maybe you will resonate with it in some way too, or be able to use it in your day to day grind.
The first word in this quote is Bloom. The definition of blooming: "To produce something beautiful." In order for us to bloom we need to feed the soil of our souls, so we are able to grow. Flowers don't just bloom. If you want them to, than you must nourish them...right? The second part of this quote is where you are. Often times we have the feeling that if only I was ________ than I could do so much better. If all my problems were solved...then I could bloom. What if where we are at is just where we are supposed to be? The last part to this quote is planted. The word planted means "placed there intentionally and meant to grow in that spot." Whatever season of life we are in, I think we can bloom there. Even if it is not where we want to be, think about what you may do for someone else by how you respond and bloom in that spot, at that time.
Here is where I get to use my sweet Montanna as an example. Her life was hard to navigate through, but as she grew older she learned to bloom right where she was planted. She loved others. She always had a smile for someone when they stopped by to say hi if we were out and about. She couldn't wait to see her family on holidays and give them hugs or a thumbs up. She had a belly laugh that when she got laughing it was so contagious. She helped me become the woman I am today and I am SO thankful for that. When we greeted others at her visitation, we were blessed to hear story after story of how she touched someones life. How she changed them in some way. How her time here on earth was a blessing to so many people because she continued to bloom as best she could even in her circumstances.
Whatever your circumstances are today, find ways to bloom just where you are planted. Try to find ways to grow for yourself and for those around you. Fill your soul with soil that can bless others. I can't wait to continue to grow right here where I am. To learn in this new season of life and to bloom.
Lots of love and a little grit too,
Jennifer
