Flipping the Script

 Hey there readers,

So, what does it mean to flip the script?  Hmm, well I have heard this said many times but decided to dive a little deeper.  The actual definition of it is "to reverse a situation, often doing something unexpected or changing the usual approach, which can lead to a more positive or successful outcome."

This has a lot to do with taking back control and making different choices.  Lets be honest here.  We all have something in our lives that we need to take better control of.  Maybe it is something big or maybe it is just little things.

In my life right now,  it is easy to avoid the things that make me really sad.  I love listening to worship music, which Montanna called "church songs." I spent almost all my time with her and we loved listening to music together. Lots of funky fun music, but in the last year of her life she wanted church music on her ipad more than anything else.  It was something we shared and I love that.  It has taken me a long time to stop avoiding the music we loved together.  BUT...I am acknowledging  that I can't do this forever.  I can't avoid it, but I can accept it and walk through it at my own pace.  I can look for growth.  I can learn that I have this amazing memory we shared together.  Instead of focusing on what I lack...I can flip it and learn how it can help me grow.  How can it make me a better person?

Taking control is boosting my confidence.  It is helping me see things from a new perspective and learning to find solutions.  A time I shared here on earth with her is helping me grow into a better version of me.  How cool is that!

Let me just say here that this is SOOOOOO not easy, and I have so much more growing to do.  Right now though, I feel so blessed about the growing I have done so far.

Lots of love and a little grit too,

Jennifer
