Practice, does not mean perfect

Hello there readers,

Have you ever heard the saying “Practice makes perfect” Well, I am here to tell you this is NOT written correctly. It is actually that practicing something can make it more permanent. Regardless of whether its perfect…which it never will be, we will build habits or maybe skills by doing them often. It’s important for us to make sure the practice we are doing is in our benefit, right? Practicing poor habits or bad decisions can lead to many things that don’t make us better people. It takes courage and trust in yourself to step out and practice something that challenges you to be better.

Something I know a lot about is gymnastics. The reason coaches want gymnasts to learn body shaping skills and correct form from the very beginning is Easy. If they learn sloppy form and practice it that way over and over, its really hard to break that muscle memory or “way” of doing it.

Friends, it really is the same in our daily lives. What we practice each day, whether it is good or bad will become a habit for us. What kind of habits do you want in your life? I challenge you to think about what you practice. This is something I am working hard at daily. I want to grow and get better. I know I am “made for more” and that helps me keep moving forward with IT. So here is to putting on your practice pants, and get going practicing good habits. Not for perfection, but for permanent residency in your daily life and heart.

Lots of love and a little grit too,

Jennifer
