Away
Hello there readers,
It feels like such a long time since I have posted. We have been busy enjoying some much needed time off. But... I am ready to dive in with some thoughts I have had.
Today is a day to discuss the definition of Away.
Away: To or at a distance from a particular person, place or thing. This does not always mean you are away from everything. Our minds still feel and process IT no matter where we are. At work, on a walk, with friends and even on the lake. Grief, stress and the worries of our world still reside in our minds and on our hearts when we go away. We take them with us. Just because we move forward and work on healing doesn’t mean these things just go away. It takes work, time and trusting in the process of the steps you are taking. It isn’t easy…but moving forward is necessary in getting better or healing. Staying in one place does not help us grow. We need to move forward to grow. To grow is strengthening ourselves to live life. When we live life we allow ourselves to feel LOVE and love is like a friendship set to music. Ahhh, doesn't that sound glorious! Like a violin playing a poem in a symphony. If it were all that pretty, right? Much of the time I think our hard places and growing looks more like tall weeds with sharp thorns poking out of the water.
I spent this past week on a peaceful lake in the UP of Michigan with family. It was wonderful…but it was also an eye opening realization to how different our lives are now, versus just a few short years ago. It helped me remember all the sweet memories we have, but made me miss them just a bit more! Even though I was "away" my thoughts were very near to my heart. I was reminded how much life keeps moving forward even when we don’t want it to. Enjoy it friends…live the moments, love hard through it all so you have great memories to look back on. Soak every bit of it in so you can share all the exciting adventures that you had or that you grew from with those still to come along your path. Keep moving, growing and learning from each and every stumble you may have. What you learn today may be the little nugget someone else may need to hear down the road.
Lots of love and a little grit too,
Jennifer
