Reflection is not just a thought...but a necessity
Hello there readers, I sure hope you are doing well and living life. I can't believe how fast time goes and how quickly we can go from mid summer days to preparing for all that fall brings.
Today I have been thinking a lot about Reflection and what that means exactly. Each day we see our own reflection in the mirror as we prepare for the day. The mirror in front of us bounces the light back at us to create a reflection of what we look like. When we stop to reflect on our inner selves or our life, we see and feel our thoughts bouncing back at us. We are able to gain perspective, come to terms with life and learn from our experiences. Throughout our lives and the paths we take, our reflection is not always what we want to see. The pause in our thoughts is still important though. It teaches us what we can do better, what we have been doing really well, and how we can move forward more clearly with purpose. For me, it also reveals the things that I can pray about!
Recently someone near to me helped me with some reflection. Some really good reflection. Although I am doing many things really well, I was reminded of how much more life there is to live. It is really easy to sit in the comfort. To make a move forward and then just stay there because it feels good. It's like a comfy chair, a cozy blanket and a hot coffee on a chilly day. I love that feeling, right! Our life is not always meant to feel that way though. Moving forward with IT doesn't mean we are letting go of what was, it means we are taking IT along with us for the next ride or MANY rides!
So, when you look at your reflection today, remember to take some time out of your day to pause and reflect on how its been going. What have you been doing amazing...reward yourself! What can you do better to have clarity and purpose? Write it down and make a plan, because YOU are worth it!
Lots of Love and a little grit too,
Jennifer Kaiser
